Although I worked every single day of Thanksgiving break, including Black Friday, I made the most of the couple of hours that I got to spend with my friends and family.
Working 40 hours on your “week off” isn’t so much of a break but I made sure to make the most of it in my red shirt and khaki pants. Yes, I work at Target. On Thanksgiving day I worked 3 pm to 3 am for the start of all of the sales and then I worked Black Friday 3 pm to 11 pm. Not bad, but also not the best. Running around, breaking up fights, walking TVs outside to cars, and looking up every single deal in the ad for customers while checking them out in the mile long line is some of the things I had to do during my “break”.
Yes, working sucks and I didn’t get to spend that much time with my family but god that paycheck is going to be so fat.
While I had to work all day on Thanksgiving, I did get to spend a few hours with family before I went in, this is pretty important to me because my family is huge and we are all super close. We have all been through a lot, whether it be deaths in the family or the birth of a new family member we are always together and holidays are always something to look forward to. You don’t realize what you have until it’s gone so make sure that you appreciate your family every day that you get with them.
