И ещё очень порадовала плотная раздача от #PaulOkenfold на #ZGames #ZGames2016 #snegoweek (at Z-Games 2016)
Never Fade Away...
So, the king is back.
Not Elvis as we know it, but someone who has led this generation (x) through our teenage to young adult years and would probably have inspired most of the leading DJs the music industry is experiencing now. Ring a bell?
I'm 38 and categorically fall into Generation X definitions. Most of us are either resigned to what life has to offer us or are struggling out of (or falling into) mid-life crisis. The time for questions is now, which is exactly when answers start going into hibernation.
We've seen alot haven't we? Princess Di, Apple vs Microsoft (not samsung), floppy disks, CDs, The Internet's infancy, dial-up modems with 56.6K internet connections, the original supermodels, the birth of reality TV (the list goes on).
On the forefront of music, we experienced what many would consider the many deaths and revivals of Pop, the longevity of rock, the death of metal, and the birth of techno (and all it's derivatives), indie and Hip Hop. Quite a mouthful.
Back to the King. Well, not really THE king, but definitely worthy of royalty considering the many facets of popular music that exist now. I was rather excited when I youtube(d) Paul Okenfold for a piece of "retro" music to post up on Facebook. But lo and behold... he's released a new essential mix!! Definitely an inspirational moment, after having taken an unknown hiatus for the last 5 years, the man largely responsible for much of my emotional venting during young adulthood has decided to make a comeback.... maybe, as if, to show the current generation of glow stick wielding, party shuffling, gangam dancing party goers that they're not the only ones who've discovered the art of popping in unison. Take that!
Truth is, the emergence of social media has catapulted the wild child of the music industry into such prominence because it was the easiest form of music to share without the baggage of licensing and out of the reach of corporate Godzillas (well, at least not to that great an extent). People have claimed 2011 as the year of Dance Music, but it has lived strong in me since you put it in my heart Pauly.
No I can't say it, if anyone could it should be you Pauly, tell our generation never to fade away. Afterall, with the amount of sh*t that we've stomached over the years, we deserve the music at least.
