On this stream someone asked Paul what he would do if Mattel ever found out about Shed 17 but I think they already know of it's existence.
Why you ask? Because they made an episode confirming that the engines are non organic.

Setting: the bridge between The Mainland and Sodor (Project G-1 version):
Engines: Who are you?
Tari: I'm Tari and I was told I was one of you.
Engines: Huh! Just because you've got a metal arm doesn't make you one of us!
Tari: Apparently I'm not like other meta runners.
Engines: So that's what they're calling them these days
Tari: Let me finish! According to these scientists my meta runner arm isn't like other meta runners. Most have one of their ordinary arms replaced with a cybernetic upgrade but my left forearm was never ordinary. When I was growing in that tank my DNA was fused with a standard meta runner arm using the same technology that was used to make you. Like it or not, I'm one of you.

What if the last episode of the last season ends with Tari sneaking into the basement and seeing what's in the pod?
She's learned about Lucinia and other things we don't know yet and approaches the pod.
Inside is Lucinia, but it isn't, it's a skeletal amalgamation of metal and flesh with Lucinia's face!
It awakens and bangs on the glass non verbally begging to be let out!
The experience is so terrifyingly mind blowing that while screaming like a banshee Tari rips off the skin on her arm and her face revealing that there was metal underneath, she looks in a nearby reflective surface and on the eye that had always been covered by her hair the distinct mark of the D-pad is in plain view. We then cut to a documentary on Tascorp featuring the members of MD-5 talking about their experiences with Tari and Tascorp.
