3 Lives, 3 Deaths, 1 Life Unlived
In the summer of 2016, 22 skeletons were found less than two feet under the surface just outside former St. Mary's Church (about to be turned into the Medieval Mile Museum) in Kilkenny. It was all over the national news and even I read about it, even though I was still living in Germanland.
Today, an exhibition was opened showing three of the skeletons: one 11-12 y/o child, one 18 y/o woman and a 45 y/o woman. They were guarded by two police men for some reason (I mean, they're dead already, and those two can't stay there for the duration of the exhibition surely...).
I had a nice little wander around in the museum, because it was free after all. I've been there three times before, I've seen most of it anyway.
Funny thing during the speeches (or is it?): one of the politicians said in preparation of the exhibition, he had learned new words: "archaeology" and "osteoarchaeology". Facepalm.
