How to Paint More Freely - Painting From a Simple Sketch
How to Paint More Freely - Painting From a Simple Sketch
Do you have drawings and sketches you love? How about transforming those drawings you love into a painting?! In this video I show you how I create a nice painting from a simple sketch!
More About This Sketch and it's Meaning
When I created this sketch, I was attending a Beth Moore conference. It was my first time seeing Beth Moore live and I was truly inspired. The worshipping was awesome and I truly loved Beth Moore topics! She was so on point for me and I could feel love and togetherness in the room full of women.
Being More OpenI wish that as women, we could always be open to connecting and supporting one another. There are very few instances where I feel truly open and have a sense of connection with other women (unless at Church or with friends). It's rare that we can turn to someone and say; I love you, I am here for you, I know what you are going through...but that night, at the conference, there was a special electric vibe in the arena where more than 2000 women gathered and worshipped together.
During the intermission I went to the concession store to get a soda and some popcorn. The line was huge! I was standing in line for about 2 minutes when it darned on me to turn around and introduce myself ;) The lady behind me was celebrating her Birthday and we had a really nice conversation. Before I knew it, it was my turn to order and we said goodbye and hugged.
Imaging doing that at the grocery store or in line at the bank!...lol
I love turning the drawing I did that night into a painting! To me it has a lot of signification and it expresses that sense of togetherness I felt the night of the conference. I believe women are truly stringer together and we shouldn't be afraid to open up to one another!
Imagine creating circles of women where we could be embracing our differences, help each other to face our fears and make it a mission to elevate one another. I know there are many places and organizations like that but what about when we are running errands or when we are out and about? How about smiling more? How about offering a hand and asking someone if they need help?
I am not saying I do this on a regular basis...but I do think about it!
There are so many women coming forward with stories of abuse, I think NOW is the perfect time to reach out and warm up to one another!
I invite you to do this painting with a mission in mind: Let this be a reminder that women are stronger together.
Thank you for sharing my post!
Learn to Paint Jesus Face - Follow Along Painting Video
Would you like to learn how to paint Jesus face? You can....with the traceable stencil I created for you! Invite a few friends and make this a fun creative time together. Here's what you'll need to paint! http://bit.ly/Jesus-Face
The first time I thought about painting Jesus, I remember feeling a little bit intimidated with that idea. After watching "Son of God" I was inspired with the picture of the actor who played Jesus. I found his eyes so gentle and to me, that's how I imagine Jesus.
I created the illustration using that picture and I loved how it turned out. The next step was to do the painting. It was really fun to create the painting of Jesus because I kept it simple and I had a really nice illustration to work from.
I named my painting "I Love Jesus". I posted a picture of my painting on Facebook and I could see right away people were commenting and asking if I was going to offer an "I Love Jesus" painting workshop so.... I said yes!
The first "I Love Jesus" painting workshop was held around Christmas time in 2015. It was a wonderful evening of creativity and worshipping!
I simplified the painting for my online tutorial so that it is more like the original illustration.
I am really happy how it turned out and I pray that many people paint this portrait of Jesus.

I ordered this product Prime and it was delivered promptly. I did a video demonstration using all the materiel that comes with this kit. I am happy to share my findings as well as what I recommend buying along with this product. Pro's: I had a nice experience painting with this oil painting kit. The paint nice enough to give you vibrant colors. I added refined Linseed oil to my paint for more fluidity but you can certainly apply the paint as is. The canvas is great and a nice size. My favorite piece in the set is the table easel. It is light, adjustable and strong. Overall this product is worth it and it is sure to please any young artist. Con's: The brushes are not great but still usable. They did not return to their original shape when loaded with paint or after each stroke. Some of the bristles fell off. 1-30cm x 40cm Stretched Canvas Panel
