#coronatime #PAUSE #pausetoreflect Huffington post wrote that searches for “what day is it” have spiked online in recent weeks, as have references to Groundhog Day, the 1993 movie starring Bill Murray as a T.V. weatherman who relives the same day again and again. I had a client telling me that one of his employees missed the Monday meeting because he forgot that it is not weekend anymore! It feels our sense of time seems distorted. Can it be that iur past, present and future are laid out together instead of always coming at us and then rushing behind us? As Arielle Pardes wrote in Wired, there are other factors at play, including our collective uncertainty about when it will end and what’s waiting on the other side. “Coronatime has no scale. ‘Time’ has become a stand-in for all that we cannot control. It is both the breakneck speed at which things are changing, and the burden of how much is staying the same. We are scared this might go on forever. We are scared it might end too soon.” Pause. These days, all that life feeling weird, people in masks, fear staying with us in public places, disliking crowds without masks, news of spikes in 32 states, .. All this. How does that make you feel? How do you see time? (at Highway 38 Big Bear) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCWBo31hM8j/?igshid=d3gzt7m2o44j
#pausetoreflect #quietmind #quietthemind Peace and quiet is a precious commodity these days, but sometimes we’re our own worst enemies. How many times have you gone to bed only to relive your day in your head or make a mental to-do list for tomorrow? Or maybe you’ve managed to have a few minutes to relax and been hijacked by a barrage of thoughts or worries? Finding calm in a world of chaos can be a DREAM. This overload often leadd to anxiety, fear, and depression, and while you can’t check out of life and avoid responsibility, you can approach things in a gentler way. So what to do? Reflect and see: 1. Do you allow time for yourself? 2. How do you react to your thoughts? If you focus on your thinking, your mind is like an electric fan with thoughts blowing everywhere. When you focus on your breathing or your body, however, thoughts can come and go like clouds across the sky. You don't go with them. You stay on this tree trunk and wartch them pass by like my little boy! 🌼 (at Big Bear Lake, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1H-3KqBqDD/?igshid=vzerpwcxcyve
