i completely understand people being pissed off that notre dame is receiving more attention bc of europe’s history but like, people are trying to guilt trip each other instead of highlighting the disparity of resources and it is all :/ obvsly i am european and i’d hate to speak over other people but it is a bit… strange
i mean to me it seems if this can happen to notre dame one of the most famous buildings in the world with millions of visitors each year, it can and will happen anywhere, it should be a huge wake up call that actual money and sense needs to put into historic preservation

pavlikovsky replied to your post: the hold your nose and vote for the person who can...
honestly, i live in a deeply tory area and sometimes the way people speak and justify still voting tory… it’s so strange to see smart people make those leaps, only because the alternative is labour. one of our contractors mentioned the area is getting more lib dem but!! they simply do not have the footing for it yet. (there is some hope though as i am seeing ‘vote labour’ on houses and labour did come to campaign this year (the only ever party to approach me too))
it really is so fucked up how many people are still so tory like after everything like i just can’t understand that one, i’m hoping labour will outperform again like they did in 2017, i mean i’m REALLY hoping they manage to pull it off, but at very best hold off a tory majority, but it’s scary
