This weeks #traveltuesday✈️ is a special one. As some of you may know, I have been involved in Girl Guides since I was 9 years old. This Week is dedicated to my time in guiding as a guide and as a leader due to this Tuesday being my last night as the leader of a Guide Unit. Thanks to #girlguidesnswact I have attended two state jamborees, one state centenary camp for the first camp that #lordbadenpowell held on #brownseaisland , I have attended leadership training and also attended my first major awards ceremony when I received my BP Award in Sydney at a State Ceremony. Due to being in guides Mum and I have researched Guiding in the countries where we have travelled both in Family holidays and solo trips. I’ve attended my first world centre (#paxlodge in London UK) out of the five world centres, had lunch with the chief commissioner of guiding in Vanuatu, represented girl guides at a dawn service in Gerringong in support of my Uncle who is a returned service man, visited the Girl Scout head quarters in New York City and the Girl Guide Shops in Bangkok, Auckland, Honolulu, Singapore & Galgary. I’ve attended many region and state events over the years including multiple Taronga Zoo Sleepouts and one sleepout at cockatoo island as well as many camps both in bell tents and in the cottages, where the fun I’ve had as a guide and as a leader was forever enjoyable, hence the photo of me covered in food dye. Messy Twister is dangerous but so much fun. Ive done my fair share of bunnings bbqs #onionsalwaysontop. I’ve met some lovely people who have helped me with my guiding journey and I am ever thankful to them. I have seen young girls turn into our leaders of tomorrow and have helped them achieve their goals. The decision to finish guiding at the end of this year was a hard one that took a lot of consideration and was not done light heartedly.
