Paxton with his old owner:
Definitely being ignored and left in his cage. He had a soft mattress in there and got the closest thing to a peaceful rest possible during his time there. No one could kick or hit him out of the blue while he slept, not without unlocking the cage door and waking him.
Quiet days in the apartment, when all his chores are done and he can try out Polish dishes he vaguely remembers, tasting memories from a life he had given up. They leave a heavy kind of sadness in his stomach, one he loathes and craves simultaneously.
Later, when he has started to heal:
A good, exhausting morning training in Dee’s martial arts school, followed by a burning hot shower and a second breakfast with the other rescues training there. (Dee has an exclusive training day soley for rescues every Sunday and it’s one of Paxton's favorite things every week.) After that he either buys some food at the market on his way home, or meets up with Amal there so they buy stuff together and walk back through the park. Then they just relax together on the couch where Paxton gets some head pats and can have a pet afternoon, with some bathtime where Amal just orders him to relax so Paxton has an excuse to get spoiled without feeling guilty about it. Cooking dinner together and more cuddles. Playing a few rounds of chess and sipping fancy juice from wine glasses, cause both of them have some trauma regarding alcohol but love the aesthetic. Bedtime with yet more cuddles.
