Rahima working as a seamstress and taking care of her family
Even though Rahima Begum is the only earning member of her family, she can earn enough to feed her family and FH brought this change to her life. In 2007, her husband diagnosed with serious mental illness and he became unable to continue his work. Late in the same year, she joined the FH funded learning and savings group and received sewing training from FH. She also took 5000 taka as a loan from her group and bought sewing machine using that money. She started working as a seamstress and now she making around 2000 taka earning each month.
Besides taking care of children and her husband, she is also paying back the loan money in installments and saving money for future investments.
Rahima says, “I am thankful very to FH and all the staff for providing me the support when I needed it the most. In future, I want to make a small tailoring shop and want to build myself as a professional seamstress.”
