Ugh. Today is the worst.

maybe it’s down to us | al & penny’s (not) date

Like always, she was nervous.

Firstly, her hair wasn’t obeying any of her attempts of a smoothing charm. Secondly, her roommate’s cat had covered her favourite dress with fur so now she was wearing her third favourite dress. But lastly, and most importantly, she was beginning to be late for her not date with Albus Potter.

She grabbed her coat (or Bertie’s, she wasn’t entirely sure), and her bag and ran down through the common room and straight out the door, hair streaming uncontrollably behind her. The plan was to meet outside Honeyduke’s so she could get her beloved sugar quills, and then head to see the psychic. It totally, utterly, wasn’t a date. 

She managed to squeeze into one of the self-moving carriages, squished against a Ravenclaw seventh year and a Hufflepuff sixth year. She let out a soft sigh, before a large grin left her face and she ran her fingers through her hair. So, maybe she had been dreaming about this for a while. Dom would mock her. The carriage pulled to a stop and Penny bolted through the streets; trying her uttermost best not to trip over or get lost, until arriving at a screeching stop in front of Honeyduke’s - and in front of Al.

“Sorry I’m late - hi - you look nice - hey there.”
