How does malware affect your system?
“It’s not a malware, it’s an alternative software”
Yes, this is exactly how you will come across a malware. It is specifically designed software with a set target and it would show up on your window with particularly a luring message that not matter has your consent or not, will be installed in your system and complete its task. More often malware programs get acquainted with us as a necessary software that must be downloaded in order to protect our computer from virus and as soon we accept the request, we give away our data and make our PC vulnerable.
However, it is not possible to know if the software has been downloaded with an attached malware but sure these signs will tell if the system has been attacked,
1. Slow system processing- If the malware hits the system, it will hamper the response time and booting speed. It is the most important clue to get your system scanned by an anti-malware like Malwarebytes, BitDefender, Advance PC Protector etc.
2. Frequent crashing- It is evident from several experiences that many times the system crashes in between an activity and takes several minutes to get up and running again.
3. High network activity despite disconnection- It has been witnessed several times that despite being not connected with the system, network activities are high on the bar. It is a clear indication that PC has been attacked.
4. Unknown icons on the desktop- When you start noticing unspecified icons on the desktop, or see weird programs automatically start running, your disk space shows full, programs rebooting by themselves etc are the crystal clear indication of confidential data being compromised.
5. Irregular ads and pop-ups- When you start receiving unasked ads on the screen, or multiple pop-ups appear and refuse to go away, and when you click somewhere and something else opens up then it indicates that your system needs a scan and uninstallation of unwanted programs.
Several other signs like friends receiving unusual messages, disabled security plugin, no access to the control panel, or any such weird activity that you haven’t assigned for, all point to the same danger sign.
However, there are ways to resolve each and every above-mentioned issue yet one must know what activities are suspicious and must be taken care of.
