Catching Up || Future Drew x Sadie
Drew felt a sudden pit of nerves in his stomach. It was a feeling that hadn't hit him in quite some time. As they neared the apartment complex, he started to slow down the car, pulling into his usual parking spot. The two hour ride seemed to go fast since he had spent it catching up with Sadie. It was nice to be able to catch up with her over again. He had forgotten the sound of her laugh and to be reminded of it was bliss. "You know," He paused as he opened the door and got out of the car. "Nothing is holding me here but Kaylee. My job would transfer me in a heartbeat." He confessed. Drew rubbed at the back of his neck. It was a habit that he'd kept even after high school. "It's just hard to try and get custody of her with my history. Noelle is going to try and get me connected with a lawyer. I'm hoping I can get it." He chewed at his lip slowly, not enjoying the thought of having to associate with Kaylee's mother.
It was a complicated situation that he felt horrible about getting into. "She's not that bad. Her mom, I mean. I just can't love her like she wants me to." Drew had gotten in the habit of honesty. One of the things he was taught in rehab was that honest contributed to his sobriety. His past and lies were what kept him so drugged up. It fed into his kleptomania and just made it worse. Drew suddenly stopped in front of an apartment door that had sidewalk chalk in front of it. There were little shoes outside of the apartment that he scooped up into his hand. "Huh, strange." He muttered to himself, unlocking the door and stepping in. "Like I said, sorry it's such a me-" Drew paused at the sight of light in his apartment, his eyebrows knitting together. "Hang on, Sadie." He put his finger up for a moment and then entered into the apartment. "What are you doing here?" Drew suddenly demanded as soon as he saw a figure seated in his living room. "Sadie, you can come in, just. Monica's here." He shook his head slowly, not wanting to get into it with the other woman.
