He hadn’t been the best father. Erik would admit that openly, he had done what he thought was best at the time... what was easier. Whether that was for her or himself, that was an argument that one could have... but he didn’t particularly care to.
He hadn’t been there for her- perhaps it was out of line for him to ask her to be there for him, at his side without knowing what actions they would be forced to take. It was likely she was safer at the school, that she would be better protected... they weren’t even sure who they were dealing with...
Those discussions... could wait, ultimately. Visiting his daughter came before recruiting an ally.
