The end of the summer was always something that was a bit hard for him, and no matter how excited he was to meet a whole new class of kids to aid, there was a certain anxiety that accompanied the sudden change in schedule. As much as he loved his job as a teacher’s aide, he vastly preferred being a camp counselor, but (sadly) understood that it wasn’t something he could do year round. This year was going to be different though. This year, David wasn’t anxious at all. In fact, he was even more excited than he was at the start of the summer.
He was up and dressed a full hour before his alarm went off, hurriedly (but quietly) making his way into the kitchen and preparing a full breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and home fries. Perfect! He nodded at his work glancing at the clock. It was still a bit early, but he couldn’t wait any longer. A quick trip upstairs had him bursting into the room that previously belonged to him, but was now home to a certain grumpy child that David had brought home with him- after filing the proper paperwork, of course. He wouldn’t have been much help for anyone had he been arrested for kidnapping, after all.
“Gooooood morning, Max! Are you ready for your first day of school?”
