Why are you interested in this character?
I love playing huge douchebags and this guy is one of the biggest douches I know how to play. He’s ridiculously fun to roleplay as too.
What is your personal interpretation of this character? How would you describe their personality?
He’s a giant rich asshole, that’s the basic gist of him. He can do whatever he wants and he takes advantage of that. When money doesn’t work, he uses fear to get what he wants, people tend to be afraid of him for good reason, especially his own children. He may or may not have used some violent means in the past to get his way, Duayne simply does not have patience for people who will waste his time and he has little to no empathy for anyone who isn’t as hard working as he is.
What would be your character’s major or occupation? It’s fine to be undecided, and you can change it later if you like!
He’s a business man, the head of a large corporation that owns a vast majority of the buildings around town, including the nicer upper class apartments that his children stay in. He also may or may not be involved in some sort of mildly illegal activities that he refuses to discuss with anyone who isn’t a current business partner.
Give a physical description of your character:
Duayne is 46 years old and stands at a tall 6’5”. He dresses business casual, normally wearing a silk dress shirt, not always buttoned up all the way, black slacks, and shiny black steel toed boots. He has a strong jaw, muscular build, and two large scars that span the entirety of his face. He doesn’t like to talk about where they came from, but will occasionally make up stories about their origin, none of which are true. He keeps himself clean shaven, hair slicked back, though not quite as drastically as Cronus’, and he exudes an air of business and professionalism. His speech is pointed and professional, though his thick Scottish accent tends to shine through whenever he gets flustered or drunk. If you hear his accent then generally you know that you done goofed.
Give an example post of your character in this AU:
As soon as Duayne arrived home, he practically tore his tie in his attempt at loosening it as quickly as possible, then he was pulling it off and tossing it aside before unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt. Business meetings were his least favorite thing to deal with when he was already this stressed out. He hung up his dress jacket, not needing to add the Laundromat onto his list of places to go and things to do. He was relentlessly busy it seemed and with the new buildings his company was purchasing near the local university, he was now finding himself even busier.
He’d just kicked off his boots and tossed himself onto his bed when he heard his phone going off. A quick glance at the screen told him it was his eldest freeloading mooch of a son. He answered with a quick and to the point, “Fuck off, I’m busy,” before hanging up and throwing his phone across the room. He’d been working his ass off lately, he didn’t need to hear how one of his children was suddenly in need of money for something. At some point they would simply need to learn to do things on their own. He rolled over and pulled his belt free of its loops, then held it up and snapped it together. Children were such a bother.
