A minute of your time to do something good today, NDN collective has a petition to stop mining operations from taking place in Pe'sla, a sacred site part of the Black Hills. You don't need to be from south dakota or the us to sign. The goal is 10,000 signatures and there are currently 4,893.
I was browsing 2012 posts by mistake earlier today and saw a post about an IndieGoGo for this purpose. The IndieGoGo only raised about 30% of its target amount, but the total amount needed was still achieved. It is nice to learn when good things happen.
This piece was made to help the Great Sioux Nation buy back their sacred land, Pe’Sla. The centre of their earth. Ezra Miller came out to help in the effort and be an observer.

Yay! I donated to this cause and I'm SO happy they were able to purchase back land that was rightfully theirs to begin with!!!
Excited to get news that "The Last Real Indians" successfully raised the total $9million to buy back Pe’Sla, the sacred land in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Support coming from tribes, children, local community and people across the globe- Pe’Sla is now protected as undeveloped land for EVERYONE. This is such a beautiful story! "The land of Pe’ Sla was once protected by the 1868 and 1851 Sioux nation treaties. The United States violated those treaties and took the Black Hills in violation of the fifth amendment of the Constitution. Today the requisition is a historic event for the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people. The tribes will work together to form the Oceti Sakowin Sacred Land Protection Commission to protect Pe’ Sla. We will preserve the sacred site for traditional and cultural ceremonies and keep it in a pristine state for our future generations."
