My opinion on the short film by Ezra Miller and Sol Guy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V30Somb7Hv8
^^ This is the link to the short film "The Truth, According To Darren Wilson"
It’s clear to me that a lot of people are jumping on the hate-wagon without context, information, or reason. (As per usual on the internet)
I’ve seen so many contradicting posts on this hellsite that just prove to me that no one has watched the video, nor know anything about the situation. People love an excuse to hate someone, especially if they’re blowing up.
The video is only 4 minutes long. Instead of being a blindly following sheep-- please watch it and form your own opinion. Especially if you’re making a post about it.
1. Being Jewish or nb is not a get out free card for being racist. I’d like to say forefront that I don't think Ezra Miller is racist. However, I'm tired of the excuse for Jewish or queer peoples actions being "He's Jewish so!!!!" or "He's lgbt so!!!" It's not an excuse. There are racist Jewish people, there are racist gay people. Take a seat.
2. That being said, I do think that whenever a Jewish person... Basically breathes, it is taken 300 yards out of proportion. Yes, Ezra did something slightly risky and possibly controversial, but I do think that anti-semitism and possibly transphobia is at play when it comes to the reactions he's received.
3. It's important to note that Miller co-directed with a black BLM activist, Sol Guy-- who lead the project. I can respect that he didn't go into this by himself because that would have been entirely irresponsible. It's a black experience, it's black people who are being killed. If a black person is not involved in the discussion, then what the fuck are you doing.
4. To me, after watching the video, Darren Wilson is being portrayed as a liar. The compilation of his dubious excuses as the eerie music rises, the unnerving sound of the gunshots. The fact that he's REHEARSING all of the lies he's soon to spew. Rehearsing the exact way he’s going to try and make people feel sorry for him with mounds of crocodile tears. The overly dramatic sighs and gasps. The frantic camera work as if he’s desperately trying to find a way to defend himself. It's clear that Sol and Ezra's aim is to make him look like a liar. However, it is a very sensitive topic. The reaction to a video containing the murderer's side to a story is expectedly defensive, even if the murderer is clearly being portrayed in a negative light.
5. This was an attemptedly artsy project but the message was illustrated a little too vaguely.
Ezra Miller does not have any social media whatsoever. However, if he would find a way to come out and say: "Hey, we tried to do something but it didn't work out the way we wanted it to. I shouldn’t have touched on this topic, especially not this way. It was in bad taste, I'm sorry." and just apologize to the black community-- I'd be completely content. This film is not something serious enough to try and destroy a career over.
Who knows, he might have already apologized but nobody knows where the fuck it is. Get some social media, dude.
Note: non-black people should not be involved in this discussion. Sure, there's nothing wrong with having an opinion-- but please remember that it's black people who are being murdered. So in this case, your opinion on whether Ezra deserves forgiveness doesn't really matter. Thanks.
Sorry if this is badly written, I am living on 4 hours of sleep and some chai lattes

On Ezra Miller's Darren Wilson Scene
Did any of you even watch the Darren Wilson scene Ezra Miller co-directed?? I'm honestly so sick of people spreading around tumblr that Ezra is racist when the facts are that if you watch the scene it's clearly about how Darren Wilson is a liar and the kind of people who support him are assholes participating in a theatrical level of lies and denial. Also, it was co-directed with his friend Sol Guy who is a BLACK MAN. All of you a dragging Ezra's good name through the mud via total falsehoods and everyone on tumblr doing this should be ashamed. My anger is not directed at any /individuals/ but simply the situation at hand where people are jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts. I'm sure that you're not all bad people or anything but please consider the kind of impact you have when you spread and perpetuate these lies. Ezra is not racist, you all need to be stopped. In short, tumblr people need to fact check and also chill.
