Peaceflower is a young mare that loves part of the Mirror Marshes and the Cauldron. I was at Crescent Moon to relax from running errands in Jorvik City and walked a bit into the Marshes to absorb the warm air and salt from the Moon Spring into my skin and soul. She peeked around a large rock, fully tacked up. There wasn’t exactly fear in her eyes, more like curiosity. Suddenly she turned around and cantered further into the marshes. I ran after her (I didn’t need to get any other cardio that week) until she stopped beside a young woman. She held her hand, it seemed to be broken. I accompanied her and the horse back to Crescent Moon. I dialled Herman of Jorvik Stables and convinced the girl to go with him, as he took the mare with him to work his magic. Later, when I was watching a dressage show at Jorvik Stables (more in a later post about another horse), Herman told me, the girl I met in the Mirror Marshes had to give up the horse and riding on “request” (Herman’s quotation marks) of her parents and they were looking to sell the mare for cheap. I bought her and I’m slowly working on getting her trust. When I have her trust, I’ll try to ride her past the spot where she threw off this girl to see if she got through the shock.
