This is what ~100 women in uniform in the Zambia Defense Force look like. Two weeks ago, I had the distinct privilege of observing a female engagement and community outreach training conducted as part of Zambia’s pre-deployment training for their fifth battalion deploying to the UN mission in the Central African Republic. These women will deploy in various capacities but receive this additional training so that they can better engage local community members, specifically women, during their patrols in CAR.
