I gotta ask about the model and type of 3d Printer you have access to! I've been very curious about this tech since hearing of the Peachy Printer with it's barely hundred dollar price goal. Anyway, I'd like to know any and all of your impressions!
Well ya see, I currently go to school for animation and we just got a 3D printer. The printer itself is a Makerbot Replicator Z18 and its pretty big. I basically volunteered to become like the “Printer Guy” and now I’m pretty much in charge of figuring it out and using it.
I’m still pretty new to all of it but this type uses plastic filament that it heats up to around 180~215C and then extrudes onto a plate. It only prints 1 solid color but we have about 10 different reals of color, and I have no problem just painting the prints anyway. (I’ve seen the ones that print the texture as well but they just don’t look that great to me, like the colors are washed out.) The prints themselves usually turn out pretty well with an interesting wood-like texture to them. Sometimes parts of the print require filing/polishing which so far I’ve been using a grinder and soldering-iron to smooth it out.
ANYWAY I’ve never even heard of this Peachy Printer until right now. Its pretty cool that it’s $100 and I do actually like the see-through plastic it prints. But for me personally, I’m not a wiz when it comes to hardware and DIY electronics and I wouldn’t want to rig a whole setup for it myself. That being said though, after I graduate I may change my mind just for its great price tag haha.
You may recall back in 2013, a tiny little 3D printer hit Kickstarter, priced at just $100. It was called the Peachy Printer, and this was unheard of price-wise
Oh my god
I'm gonna own a 3d printer soon.

What a Peach
With many common drawbacks hurdled, the known issues fixed and the innovations bar moved even higher, Rylan Grayston’s Peachy Printer is the newest solution for the household. Costing far less the the average 3D printer, the Peachy Printer costing only $100 is pursuing the marketable elements to a wider scale. With this selling point and with increased capabilities, Rylan is pushing a product that will not only strive to put a printer in households but giving far more expensive levels of detail for far less price. Using the unique approach of new methods of utilizing a sound card and drivers that plug right into a computers’ sound jack, the Peachy Printer gives 1/1000th of an inch scale precision without the use of a microconverter or other expensive and bulky utilities. Using the sound jack – something nearly all computers hold, with the small, portable and inexpensive design, and capabilities to be used with a camera to become a 3D scanner, the Peachy Printer is bringing the 3D Printing industry to a more homely and everyday usability market.
