Snowcapped Peak - April 2019 At the beginning of April, Kathy and I drove from our condo in Iowa to San Pedro, California, there to board the Ruby Princess for a two-week cruise to Hawai’i. For the next little while, I will be posting images from that trip This snowcapped peak is located in the Arapaho National Forest in Summit County, Colorado. If I read the little board at the vista correctly, this is “Peak 1,” and is 12,801' high. The vista turnout at the summit of Summit County is at 9,150'. That 3,651' difference meant I was standing on bare ground at the vista while the snow remained on Peak 1. MWM

First Peak
First peak that I plan to summit next weekend is of Mt. Pence. Is only in the 9000 ft elevation, but I figure that will be a good way to begin. My only fear is that I've read that the trails can be tricky. However, I will not allow that to stop me. I've climbed other mountains before, and I am going to be fine.
It's funny how difficulty of each peak in SSX 3 is shown by weather. Peak 1 is sunny and happy and the worst that can happen is in the backcountry (fucking called HAPPINESS) and then Peak 2 is somewhat windy and some rocks fall and it's grayer, more crevasses, it's bc is called Ruthless...Peak 3 is just...avalanches everywhere, ice chunks cracking off of the race course AS YOU RIDE IT, A boulder smashing the mountain TO PIECES in the bc (named the Throne by the way) and just...ugh. I love but fear Peak 3 so much. Gravitude is an amazing race course but it's fucking scary...
He stood here, slightly majestic. A mix between a mystical folk hero and a priest about to give the sermon of his life... via peak1
