The Peakotera
The Peaktoera is a creature that both stalks and protects the mountainside. They are a creature of nature, and as such, they can be a protective force and a devastating force... due to the humans that have regularly started to climb the mountains in search of thrill-seeking, an adventure, or any such reason the Peaktoera has awoken once again due to the threat on the place that they are nature-bound to protect.
If they find your tent, it is already over.
There is no sound, only the slight snowfall welcomes their arrival and it is the only warning you will ever get.
They prefer to hunch over, blending into the scenery around them. However, should their prey run so will they. Their hunched legs, resembling broken branches can straighten out, giving them a truly staggering height, and a truly terrifying speed for them to gallop in a dead sprint. There is no outrunning them, the only solution is... pray that by pure happenstance that you aren’t in your tent when the Peakotera happens to give you a visit.
Hide, and wait for the sun to rise.
And never come back.
