"I’m flirting with you"
HS au bc why not. Destiel. Fluff.
it got long. Im sorry. I can do it again if you dont like it.
"You wanna hang out later? We can go get pizza and study for that math final." Dean leaned against the locker next to Cas’. He played with the strap on his backpack, waiting for Cas’ answer.
"Actually I already have a study group. But you should ask Lisa. I’m sure she’d love to," Cas tried not to slam his locker shut, and ended up with a weird smack. Lisa got on every last one of Cas’ nerves, because all she ever did was flirt with his friend. I totally get that she likes him but does anything ever come out of her mouth besides, “oh Dean you’re so funny”.
"I don’t wanna hang out with Lisa," Dean mumbled, thinking about all of her annoying attempts to drag him away from Cas. This year had been really great for their friendship, and Lisa was fucking it all up. Cas was always aggravated at them both, he never wanted to hang out anymore, and now he probably thought Dean was interested in Lisa’s grossness.
"Well I’m still busy today," Cas didn’t even look at Dean as he walked down the hall, headed out the door towards the parking lot.
"Tomorrow then." Dean asked hopefully, trying to catch up with Cas’ strides.
"Probably not," and just like that, Cas was out the door. Dean let out a huge sigh and headed towards his own car. He got all of two feet before Lisa popped up in front of him.
"Hey there doll! Where ya headed? I’m totally free this afternoon, so we should go get sushi or something!" She tried to wrap her arm around Dean’s as they walked towards his car, but he pulled away.
"Actually, I’ve got plans," he fumbled for his keys, hoping to get out of here as soon as possible.
"Actually, you don’t. I heard you talking to Cas." Lisa put both her hands on hips, glaring at Dean
"Actually, fuck off," Dean slammed his car door shut and roared off before she could even process his words.

"Hey Cas!" Dean raced down the hallway after Cas the next morning. "I know for sure you don’t have anymore tests, so we are hanging out this afternoon." Cas sighed and rolled his eyes.
"I assume Lisa is coming too?" He avoided looking at Dean as he dug aimlessly through his locker.
"What? No? Why would she?" Dean knew it. Cas hated him and it was all Lisa’s fault. Dean knew that with Lisa always around, he wasn’t gonna get anywhere with Cas. "Look, come over later. Me and you. Like old times. No one else. Okay?" Cas looked at Dean, a bit less annoyed.
"No one else?" Dean nodded. "Just me and you?" Dean continued nodding, smiling at his friend. "Fine. I’ll be there." Cas was excited. For once he could hang out with Dean and forget about Lisa. Even though he didn’t really have that much of a chance with Dean, at least they were still friends. And he had his friend back.

Sitting in his car outside Dean’s house, Cas talked himself down from nervousness. He got out of the car and knocked on the door. He was greeted by Dean who leaned against the door frame and looked him up and down.
"Well this is already the best date I’ve ever been on." Cas smiled and he could feel red hot blush from head to toe. Despite Dean’s constantly flirtatious personality, he always got flustered. He stepped in the house, tugging the strap of his bag securely over his shoulder. "I got some cookies, if you want any." Cas could tell they weren’t store bought but they weren’t Mrs. Mary’s famous cookies either. Did Dean bake cookies? Cas thought to himself. Maybe they’re leftover from the party in physics. Cas ate the cookies despite his confusion and sat on the couch. Dean fumbled around in the kitchen a minute, and came back with two cups of lemonade.
"What are we watching, baby doll?" Dean as next to Cas as he could and put his arm across the back of the couch. Cas tried to hide his stupid grin by drinking lemonade.
"I think ‘Every Which Way But Loose’ is coming on." Cas picked up the remote and clicked through the channels. Dean, sitting his lemonade down, rested his other hand on Cas’ knee. Cas’ eyes bulged and his mind started racing. He attempted to focus on finding Dean’s favorite movie as he felt Dean’s hand squeeze his knee. God I must be imaging this. There is no way Dean is actually doing this. Not to me. "Excuse me," Cas got up and tried to not run into the bathroom. He shut the door and exhaled deeply. He stayed in there, going through all his options and what he should do before Dean knocked on the door.
"You okay buddy?" Dean was leaning against the door, concern dripping from his voice.
"Yeah, I just, uh, really had to pee. Sorry." Cas reached over and flushed the toilet, and opened the door.
"You sure you’re okay?" Dean leaned his shoulder against the wall just outside the door, crossed his arms and looked Cas over like he was looking for injuries.
"I, um, I just, well," Cas took a deep breath and decided to just go for it. "I’m just really into you and I think I was taking your friendliness a little too seriously and I’m sorry." Cas looked down and shuffled his feet in place. It took a minute before Dean responded. And he when he did, he grabbed Cas’ shoulder’s, pushed him into the wall and said, "That might be because I’m flirting with you, you dork," right before pressing into kiss him.
