It's actually a gene. Some people have a gene that makes cilantro taste like soap to them. My dad has it, but I don't.

yeah ive heard of that! its like aldehydes and receptors or smthing, i still think it tastes super gross no matter what my genes are

Try “I accept your apology” instead of “it’s okay” or something like that.

Try just acknowledging that you hard him and asking for some time to process his apology. That way you aren’t ignoring him, but you also aren’t saying that it’s OK when it’s not.

well, I sent him a message after I got home explaining that it wasn’t just him that caused it as there were other things building up the anxiety, but he triggered the attack - but the main gist of the message was that he wasn’t entirely at fault. do you think that gets it across?? or should i let him know I appreciated the apology specifically??
