since larimar's sculpt ice statues I bet regular pectolites sculpt stone statues. your dolomites can still work for other forms of stone carving it wouldn't be the first time two gems share a similar job but different aspects of it

White pectolites make glass sculptures for the diamonds.

And Yellow Pectolites make limestone sculptures for the diamonds.

Instead of a Pearl, Deep Dream Diamond has a Pectolite by her side at all times (or perhaps more likely, on her shoulder). Full transparency: Malachite Miners does not feature pearl as an ore because it’s... all underground and pearls are made by bivalves in the sea. There’s also no Amber or Petrified Wood for similar reasons! But yeah so since I can’t use pearls for this challenge, each Diamond has a different gem as their “””companion”””. 

Pectolite’s hair and outfit are inspired by the real gem’s forms! a bunch of thin rods that appear puffy and soft when viewed all together! It’s a very cute shape. Pecto’s proportions are based on Larimar’s design from Change Your Mind, where she has a nose and inverted eyes. I figured it’d make sense since Larimar is a type of Pectolite, so perhaps the gems themselves would be similar and Larimar is just ‘specialized’. 

regarding the lack of pearls, I ditched Deep Dream’s pearl accessories for the same reason I mentioned before: they make NO SENSE if there’s no pearl characters in-universe!! so yeah, no pearls, unless I’m offered them for this sorta AU I have going on here (which I was! But you’ll see them later. They are not a diamond’s pearl). 

Additionally, I am aware indigo is a strange color for Pectolite. This is just kinda how it is in the game-- I think it MAY be this way because Pectolite is fluorescent and turns indigo under UV light iirc? But I’m not certain about that. So for now the explanation is just, the ones in Deep Dream’s court have a tendency to be indigo due to the intense UV light she radiates. Perhaps one from Scary Diamond’s court would be the correct color?

Also, I downloaded several brushes to get the icy effect in Deep Dream’s hair, lol.

do you mean su ocs or ocs in general? bc i got pectolite/larimar who is my new gem oc that you could draw if you want but he's not really a su oc (at least i haven't yet decided what kinda oc i want him to be). i actually just posted a wip sketch of him that i quickly slapped some color on.

It was difficult but I hope I did him some sort of justice
