various food.
Most of it is from the "Peculiar Baking" cookbook. The only one not from the cookbook, was the lavender-matcha.
(starbucks dupe, as i am now allergic to vanilla extract. )
the recipes are either fabulous and perfect, or completely unusable, nothing in between.
The Good:
lavender gems: turned out amazing- perfect amount of lavender to taste floral but not soap-y. need to use alcohol free vanilla extract for the glaze.
tea-ramisu: tiramisu, but made with tea instead of coffee. delicious! I used store-bought ladyfingers rather than homemade, to not waste unnecessary spoons. tea cup is from local thrift store, 3 dollars.
black-forest scones:good but would have been better If had been able to freeze them, bit craggaly. Egg wash would have had same effect. used frozen cherries rather than maraschino (allergies). Delicious nonetheless.
The Bad:
lady bug hand-pies. Came apart. not all the alcohol from the flavoring extract burned off. colour was wrong. took way too long.
Mourning bread: dough was *way* too dry with original portions. used entire can of condensed milk. changed topping to dutch crackle. went stale immediately.
