About Me: Michelle
I am a born and raised New England girl, who presently calls Colorado home. I embarked on a road trip from coast to coast with my boyfriend, a future sailor in the Navy, and golden retriever Mobie. I was inspired to make the journey by a life changing trip I took to Europe in 2016 that ended in my becoming a more confident driven woman. I had so many wonderful experiences and met new people that I will forever call friends. Not to mention the awe of being immersed in a different culture, surrounded by a foreign language, and towered by gorgeous architecture. That trip is what allowed me to be open to moving across the country and inspires me to see even more of the world.
I have a background in healthcare, and earned my CNA license in high school and I did one year at a community college, but discovered it was not really where I wanted to be. After 12 years in school, I didn’t want more of it. I couldn’t picture myself being happy in a normal career and didn’t want to waste my time, energy, and money. Realizing this, I decided to continue working full time as a CNA, taking care of the elderly for almost 5 years. As an empathetic person, I was often a source of reassurance, love, and compassion. Not only was I a caretaker, but also a trusted friend. I am now working as a receptionist, which I have found to be a pleasant change from the high stress and long shifts in health care.
As much as I love helping others and traveling, my real passion is in crafting. I love to pour my heart and soul into my creations. As a perfectionist, I can spend hours perfecting, or learning to perfect, my art. As a kid, I would sketch and write my imagination out on paper. As an adult I paint and blog for fun, in addition to other crafts. I began my journey as an entrepreneur with a soap and candle hobby business in high school. It is still hobby level, but I have learned so much from it. Today, I’m still making candles and have discovered a new joy in making malas. My desire to own my own business and live out my dreams continues to grow beyond limitations. I have always trusted that I will end up where I need to be and when I need to be. I’m just excited to see how things will fall into place!
