This Friday and Saturday night will be known around the world as Pedamundo. The second weekend of June every year. You know that buzz you have 2.5 drinks in where everything in the world feels achievable? That is Pedamundo. When the lyrics to Sweet Child O’ Mine describe your life story, that is Pedamundo. If you could listen to every Beach Boys song instantaneously, it still would lack the feel good summer spirit of Pedamundo

HIM: Are you celebrating that made up holiday again.

Me: You bet your ass I am...PEDAMUNDO!!!!

Him: But it's not even a real holiday.

Me: Must we have this conversation every year? Besides, name 1...just 1 holiday that wasn't made up by someone?

Him: ...

Me: That's what I thought. Every single holiday came from someone's idea to celebrate the day and the people's collective agreement that the day should be celebrated. Hence... PEDAMUNDO!

Him: Viva Pedamundo...I guess.

Ahhhh, headed home at last...

I've got so many Pedamundo plans, the first of which will be taking off my shoes and bra and putting on my pajamas. This evening will also heavily feature coconut rum, cookies and napping. Tomorrow things get a little more exciting with sleeping late, making a giant pancake and playing with clay for most of the day (it's already wedged and ready to go) and then at some point movie watching, tumblr surfing and cooking out. Y'all try not to be too jealous of the breakneck pace and glamour of my weekend. After all, Sunday is laundry day for me just like everyone else. I'm just a normal person like you. ;)
