Neville Slams Neto’s Lack of Killer Instinct as City “Deserved” to Be Pegged Back

Gary Neville has criticised Pedro Neto for lacking a killer instinct in front of goal and insisted that Manchester City only have themselves to blame after being held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former England and Manchester United defender admitted he was frustrated by Neto’s performance. While Neville acknowledged the winger’s improvement and technical quality, he argued that the Chelsea man still falls short of the ruthless finishing expected from an elite attacker.

“He might be close to Eden Hazard in terms of style, but he will never be Hazard,” Neville said. “Hazard had the beauty in his game, but he was also a killer. Neto doesn’t have that.”

Neville also pointed the finger at Manchester City, claiming Pep Guardiola’s side failed to kill the game despite taking the lead through Tijjani Reijnders in the 42nd minute. City were eventually punished when Enzo Fernández struck a late equaliser deep into stoppage time. ขายบิลบอล

“Chelsea deserved a point for the way they responded,” Neville added. “But City should have finished the game off. Dropping points like this can hurt you in the long run, especially in a title race where the gap can quickly stretch to six points.”
