Koopalings Intro Posts (Part 7/7)

Personality:

Larry is the epitome of a little brother. He is also very ADHD (combined type). He can't do one thing for too long. He loves video games, comic books, tennis of course, and, oddly enough, figure skating. Wendy tried to get him into hockey, since she wanted someone else to practice with, but he saw the figure skaters practice one day and was mesmerized. She says he abandoned her. He says he doesn't wanna third wheel for her and her girlfriend (PomPom) beating the shit out of each other on the ice.

I also think it's funny when the koopalings play Nintendo games, especially Mario Kart, so I think Larry plays a lot of Legend of Zelda. He loves Bugsnax because I love that game and not enough people know about it. He bought it as a joke and played it when he was bored, then fell in love. He has like 100 hours in that game. If you know Bugsnax, you know that means he's played it like 8-10 times, including the DLC. His favorite character is Wiggle; all of her songs have gotten stuck in his head dozens of times. He would also be a major speedrunner. Speedruns Minecraft, Poppy Playtime, Bugsnax, Mario Party. Anything. He's addicted. And SO good at it. Genuinely top level MC speedrunner. He fucks around in Poppy Playtime for fun (think AstralSpiff).

Despite his brainrotting ADHD and general scatterbrainedness, Larry does his own hair. He keeps his sides shaved, maintains the star (carved into his right temple), and uses product to keep his mohawk looking nice. The Pinkie Pie-esc front piece is also routinely curled to keep it bouncy. You can tell when he's not doing well, because his hair becomes horribly disheveled immediately. He got his entire routine and all his products from asking Ludwig, even though they have different curl types. Larry has quite tight coils, like 4C type tight.

Larry wants to appear cool, calm, collected, and mature, but he is an emotional teenage boy and it shows. His older siblings try to hide their problems from him, but they are not good at it. He was there when he, Morton, and Lemmy discovered Iggy was self-harming. He has noticed Ludwig staying in his room for days at a time. He has caught Lemmy staring at nothing for minutes on end. All these things terrify him. None of his siblings talk to him about this stuff, because they think it's not his business or he's too young to understand. He just wants to know what's going on so his imagination doesn't run wild. He thinks all his siblings are on the verge of dying constantly. He's waiting for the day he gets the bad news. He doesn't know how to express this to his siblings so he lashes out at them for "keeping secrets" and "treating him like a baby." That all changes after The Incident (see below).

This didn't fit anywhere else but Larry is any and every Danny Gonzalez song. Vape Tricks, My Dad Is Rich, Spooky Boy, they're all Larry core. He's such a dork loser I love him for it.

Canon Event (TW CSA, COCSA, "grooming," self-harm):

When Larry was 13, he met someone on an online game and they became friends! I don't know video games. It can be whatever game you want. But they definitely friended each other on discord and started DMing. At first, it was very lighthearted stuff about the game, maybe some minor personal life stuff sprinkled in, and Larry was having a lot of fun with a friend his age. After a few months, the conversations slowly shifted. The first red flag was the friend sending a risque "ask game." Example below:

Larry noticed the sexual questions right away but the friend started off with an easy one. They went back and forth sending numbers and answers until the friend picked on of the sexual questions. Larry hesitantly answered it. The friend responded positively (along the lines of a compliment or "oh nice" or "you should try it"), then encouraged Larry to ask a similar question. This all made Larry very uncomfortable but he didn't want to say anything.

Over another handful of months, things escalate. The friend asks Larry for pictures of himself. Larry obliges. (This is when the friend discovers Larry is a koopa, and reveals that he is a toad). Then, risque pictures as a "joke." Larry pushes back a little, but caves pretty quick. Then, he asks for nudes, giving Larry specific instructions for poses. Larry fights him on this for days, but with enough nagging, he gives in. All of this makes Larry very anxious, as he knows this is wrong, and makes him deeply uncomfortable.

Then, everything gets worse. Bowser tells his kids about a forming peace treaty between The Darklands and The Mushroom Kingdom. Larry relays this info to his friend, who says that his dad is castle staff for Princess Peach. The friend becomes very excited of the possibility of them meeting in real life. Larry reciprocates this excitement over text but in reality is dreading it.

The fateful day arrives where Bowser and his kids travel to The Mushroom Kingdom to discuss the treaty. Larry's friend is in the meeting room. They wave to each other but the meeting starts up immediately. During a recess, Larry gets a text. The friend asks him to go to the bathroom and leave the door unlocked. His heart drops. He does it anyway. He excuses himself and leaves the room. He finds a bathroom in the hall (one of those single stall rooms) and enters, leaving the door unlocked. He waits.

A minute later, the friend enters. I'm not going to describe what happens next. The friend leaves first after the interaction, telling Larry to come back a few minutes later. Larry, left alone, goes to the sink to clean himself up. He stares at himself in the mirror, trying to convince himself "this isn't happening." He spirals for almost 20 minutes, only pulled out of it by Roy pounding on the door and telling him the meeting is back on.

Larry is completely silent the rest of the meeting, just staring at his "friend" across the room. He feels nauseous. He wants to cry. His cloaca hurts. When the meeting finally ends, and the Koopa family is leaving the castle, Larry asks Ludwig something to the effect of, "What is sex supposed to be like?" Ludwig, at first, is aghast that Larry would ask such a thing in public, but quickly switches up when he realizes Larry's wording implies that Larry has had sex. He starts asking questions back. Everyone else stops walking and takes notice of the interaction happening. Larry breaks down and admits everything that just happened to him. Ludwig is FURIOUS. Bowser even moreso. The entire family (excluding Iggy, who takes Larry and Morton outside) storm back into the conference room to shout at Peach. Bowser calls off the treaty.

Outside, Larry is sobbing while Iggy sits awkwardly next to him. They quietly ask him questions about games he likes and when are they gonna play tennis again and random light stuff like that. It sort of calms Larry down, but he is in the gallows. Bowser slams the castle doors open and drags his kids back to the airship. On the ride home, Larry is tense, thinking he's in trouble, too. Bowser reassures him that he's not, asking him if he's okay. He leaves him with his siblings, unsure what to do in this situation. It's an awkward journey home.

That night, Larry can't sleep. He tries for hours, but every time he closes his eyes, he's back in that damned bathroom. He wanders to Ludwig's bedroom and wakes him up. Ludwig spends the entire night trying to get Larry to sleep. The next night, Larry goes to Bowser's room. The night after that, he goes to Lemmy. After that, Ludwig again. Then Bowser two nights in a row. He can't sleep alone for over two months after the incident. He has flashbacks and multiple panic attacks daily. He can't eat. He becomes quiet and reserved. He's skittish and sad. Like a shutdown dog in a shelter.

Bowser puts him on the waitlist for a therapist as quickly as possible, but the appointment is a couple months out. Until then. he does his own research. He sort of self-diagnoses Larry with PTSD because it is very very obvious.

All this happens about 6 months into the Koopalings knowing the Broodals, and Hariet became Larry's and Morton's babysitter over that time. A few weeks after the incident, Larry confides in Hariet and she supports him the best she can. She becomes his favorite person. She'll read him bedtime stories to get him to sleep. She carries him around like a toddler. He is always at her side when she is around.

About 2 months after the incident, Larry gets into self-harming, specifically cutting, but I don't have that all fleshed out yet. I'm also writing a fic about it so I don't wanna spoil anything ^^^

Also, I picture the Toad friend as a blue toad who is about a year younger than Larry, so 12-13. And his name is Lium, as in mycelium. I also imagine his father is sexually abusive to him and his mother, because this behavior does not come out of nowhere. So, Peach banishes the dad and helps the mom get professional help for her kid.

It's Roy. You know this guy. Gym bro, built like a tank. But one of those like WWI tanks that is smaller than a modern day pick-up truck. He is just a normal guy, besides being a prince and all.

The sole reason this guy wears sunglasses all the time is because he is constantly high as a damn airplane. This dude is in the stratosphere 2 minutes after he wakes up. He has multiple different bongs. One was gifted to him by Iggy because they thought it looked cool. It was this:

Roy has tried to sneakily grow cannabis in Ludwig's flowerbeds and got his shit rocked, verbally. Mostly because he dared to touch Ludwig's plant babies. Even if the cannabis grew, Roy is so useless he would not be able to process it or even roll his own joints. He buys pre-rolls all the time because he can't be assed to do anything himself. He says it's because he's busy. The only thing he ever does is hit the gym.

While he is not especially mean to any of his siblings, he is not particularly kind to them either. He avoids emotional conversations like the plague, he says what's on his mind even if it's insensitive, and is generally apathetic to others' problems. The one thing he knows how to do is beat the shit out of someone. Unfortunately, he cannot punch the sadness out of his own siblings. He learned that the hard way. Ludwig is still pissed about it.

Still, Roy tries to help when he can (Example). He does the bare minimum but it's how he shows that he does care for his siblings even the tiniest bit. Except Wendy, she gets special treatment because he adores her. She's his best friend.

He also has tattoos and a top surgery scar, as seen here and here

⚠EMETOPHOBIA TW⚠Random headcanon that doesn't fit anywhere else: Roy is a sympathy barfer. He will genuinely gag when other people (COUGH usually Larry COUGH) vom in front of him. He has to leave the room lest he also lose his lunch. He gets made fun of relentlessly for it. His siblings, mostly Wendy and Lemmy, will fake gag and trigger his actual gag reflex and cry-laugh at his agony.

Canon Event:

N/A as of now. I have no angst for this beast. He is just a yrbasgender. I do think that he and Wendy look like each other post-transition. Like, baby Roy looks like Wendy now and baby Wendy looks like Roy now. Y'know what I mean??? They think it's hilarious. Besties.
