Carol's Second Act Season 1 - Episode 12: Peer Evaluations AirDate: January 16th, 2020, 09:30 PM
You know you're a lovable dork when you title your Group Assessment/Peer Evaluation Paper "Team Awesome Assemble"....
I hate writing this paper. I love my group and I feel like I'm talking shit behind their backs. Not only that, but they will be reading all of this. I'm so sorry. I don't want to tell any of you your weaknesses. In fact, for a few of you I really struggled to come up with some and I feel like I made them up. We have to have 3 but you're amazing. I don't want to hurt any of you, it's not who I am. I hope that the paragraph about your strengths will affect you more than the one on your weaknesses. I'm sorry. I really hate doing this but we have to.
Project 1-END!!!!!
This project turned out to be a lot harder for me than I had originally thought it would be. I was kind of expecting to float right through it and not worry about it at all, however I ended up realizing that it was a really difficult project that required a lot of thought.
THe most difficult thing about this process for me was making sure that my argument was not backwards. I kept trying to describe what scantron tests were like, and not how our culture was using them.
It was also really difficult for me to not falsely accuse teachers of being lazy. It isn't fair to label all people as something they arent, and laziness is a really harsh accusation. I did eventually manage to figure out how to flip it around and create a less intense argument that falls on society's shoulders, not just teachers.
THe writing process was really difficult for me because in highschool, I just turned in a first draft and called it good. It was kind of cool here to have someone that was giving me constructive feedback and telling me how to improve my thesis and my paper as a whole. I liked that we were able to hear from our fellow students, however it kind of frustrated me that out of the four people told to grade mine, only one did. I wish we were getting more feedback!
All in all, I thought this project went well and I am proud of what I turned in!
