Happy Birthday 80th to living legend #PeeWeeEllis (Sorry for the sound) I cannot thank him enough for bringing me on the road with him. And letting my hyper happy ass run wild on these UK stages. He asked me to co-curate a repertoire of Funk tunes with him... Even let me propose musicians for for the band! My first call was @darujones his drumming is stellar, deep, raw, black music history chimes out at every snare hit. My dream was to always sing alongside Omar @omar_lyefook for obvious soulful reasons (I will bother him to our last days for a duet) and when he agreed I screamed. I tried to keep it cool the whole time but I know he peeped me fangirling him. My road partner, Camilla George had already done some work with @soundukarts and we definitely needed another lady in the band (we all agreed on that point that I wouldn’t let go of) When @yoyobass couldn’t make the dates I point straight to one and only Neville Malcolm @thereallevelneville who I was fortunate to know from my #nightintales recording - he is eve.ry.thaaaang.
