LAUNDRY PEG PAG

This is a cute and practical sewn laundry clothes peg bag. Hang it anywhere in the laundry, from your laundry trolley or from the clothes line while you hang out your washing. To keep it looking good (and to avoid spiders making their home in it) bring it back inside after use. Hanger removes easily so it can be washed. Decorated with a hand made fabric flower. A useful item for yourself or a practical gift for someone. Made by Pat Mimmis of Sundown art and Craft Group.

Peg Bag Pattern – Free Bag Tutorial

Peg bag pattern

This peg bag pattern is easy to make and I feel that it is another project for those who wish to craft for charity or Christmas stalls.  Or to make for yourself, of course!  It can be used as a peg bag for hanging out your washing or it can be hung from a hanger to hold your socks or tights.  The bag is very approximately 11″ wide by 11″ long.

Apologies for how super basic it is, but I’m having a lot of fun thinking of these.

So I’m imagining that there is a fence town and an old washing line and peg bag have been outfitted into a transit system from one side of the garden to the other.

Home made peg bag designed by Littlebird

Littlebird. I made a peg bag because our current one was old and broken. I didn’t have enough of the leaf patterned fabric so I combined two different fabrics on the pocket. If you wanted to make it I would advise ( to make it simpler) to only use one piece of fabric.

First, fold the top two corners into the middle so they met ( just to check that they do)

then hemmed the two long sides to form the back  piece. Fold  the top corners again and hand sew them together from  about 5 cm from the top point. Now, stitch on a different smaller piece ( about half the size of the Back) meeting the bottom of the pocket piece with the bottom of the back piece by placing it right sides together then turning inside out. Slip a baby clothes hanger in and fill with pegs and your done! Enjoy your new peg bag.
