At the Foot of the Aqueduct of Pegões
I was very pleased to have found the Aqueduct of Pegões which wasn't that far from the Convento de Cristo. One could say that this would actually be part of the Convento de Cristo since this is the aqueduct which supplies water to the convent. Aqueducts are always the engineering marvel and they are a sight to behold. There massive structures are used to ferry water from far away places using only the power of gravity. This just means that water would be coming from a higher place and it just flows downwards to the destination. This means that the height of the source and the destination would have to be measured accurately to be able to build something which has a very gentle incline for the water to flow down.
