a bunch of In The Heights doodles ft. Peggy and an orange highlighter !!
Usnavi: I don't have a favourite Schuyler. How could you even think that? All the Schuyler sisters are of totally equal importance and worth.
Vanessa: It's Peggy, isn't it?
Usnavi: I cant help it, she has those "love me tender" eyes and I'm weak.
The Morning After
When Peggy opens her eyes the sun still isn’t visible. Only Usnavi, his exposed back and crazy bed head, his arms that are so often wrapped around her catches her attention. He’s sitting on the side of the bed and looking out the window into the empty early morning streets. The look in his eyes tell her he’s far away, even if he is sitting right besides her. Often he’s thinking about the Dominican Republic, the sandy beaches and blue oceans he so often speaks of going back to. She hopes he’s envisioning her beside him now. “Hey,” she finally musters up, not getting up. Usnavi slowly turns to her with a tired smile. “Hey, Marge.” He throws his legs back onto the bed and Peggy finds herself leaning closer to him. Warmth seems to be radiating off of him and despite the heat that is surely over 100 degrees she takes his hand. “I’m sorry.” It catches her by surprise. Sorry? She swallows for a second and wishes she could morph into one of the blue shadows on the wall and book it out of here. Oh my god, oh my god. He regrets it, doesn’t he? He hates her. He doesn’t love her. He’s just going to- “Margaret.” He squeezes her hand before her eyes slowly look up to meet his own. “I don’t regret it. I just wish we could do this over again. When you weren’t drunk.” “You were drunk too.” She quickly says as Usnavi begins to rest on his side, their faces right next to each other and their holding hands resting in between their chests. Usnavi turns away before letting a soft laugh out. She could listen to him laugh for hours. She could listen to him do literally anything and she knows it would be beautiful. How he pronounces the v in his own last name as a b or how he sings so freely to the radio when it’s just them working in the bodega. “What, did you want it to be more romantic?” “No...I don’t need that. I just wished we were in our right minds. I mean, your father is going to kill me. He’ll alway see you as a kid.” Peggy makes a face and Usnavi can’t help but laugh again before pressing a soft kiss against her forehead. “Please stop talking about my dad. It’s a huge turnoff.” Usnavi runs his free hand through Peggy’s hair and almost immediately it is caught in a large knot of hair. “Oh god, I’m so sorry, amor. I’m not very good at this. Relationships. Being romantic. Loving someone.” The corners of Peggy’s mouth rise up and she pulls him closer to her by wrapping a leg around his own. Strong and small, he calls her. After slowly pulling his hand from her hair he wraps it around her waist and she presses a soft kiss against his lips. “I love you too, dumbass.” She trances a hand down his collarbone softly and he leans forward into another kiss. “What will people think?” Usnavi asks before kissing Peggy again, the light taste of alcohol still on his lips from the night before. “Let's-” A kiss. “Let’s just-” Another one, and this time much more slowly and tender. “-keep loving each other for now.”

Pegsnavi thrives on tummy kisses. Usnavi was and still his a little self conscious about his, as Peggy calls it, "pocket of cookies." But Peggy gives him tum kisses. And when Peggy first got pregnant it was his turn. Then they gave their lil babies tum kisses. This family loves tum kisses.
Peggy: Usnavi, I'm cold.
Usnavi: *gives Peggy his jacket* There you go. All better.
Angelica: Huh, I guess it is kinda cold-
Benny: I have hot chocolate and a blanket.
Angelica: You're gonna make me share the blanket with you, aren't you?
Benny: Oh Angelica, you know me so well.
