Disney Adventures, October 2000
i said no fanart until I force people to look at some oc posts but actually I do what I want so :+)
sure okay pelswick posting
This scene right here sums up why Pelswick is such a great show.
For the context- Pelswick was banned from going on a school camping trip out of fear for his safety because he's in a wheelchair. This eventually led to the camping trip to be cancelled altogether which made all the kids start protesting against him, and then other groups started protesting for him to go on the camping trip, but mainly consisted of a non-disabled lawyer attempting to speak over him whenever he tried to speak for himself (Pelswick didn't even want to go on the camping trip that badly- he wanted to be with his friends, but didn't want the trip cancelled because of him).
The entire commentary of people trying to speak over the groups they're trying to "speak for", in this case people with disabilities, and treating them like charity cases instead of, you know, human beings, is still just as relevant today as it was in 2000. And it also helps that Pelswick himself is a great character- he's a normal kid who's just trying to navigate being a teenager. He's not "inspirational" or a "wheelchair woobie". He's just an average teenage boy who happens to use a wheelchair, and when issues do come up regarding his disability, it's never him being disabled itself- it's how people treat him because of it.
Okay, so if you're the least bit interested in cartoons, or just really enjoyable comedies, please give Pelswick a watch.
It has everything. A unique and charming art style. It's genuinely funny, but can be touching at times, and has a surprisingly emotional backstory if you look it up. Very likable, funny characters (and the unlikable characters are meant to be disliked anyway, and the bully in particular is a ton of fun to hate on and watch fail). And one of the most unique and endearing protagonists I've ever seen, who's a charming wiseass while being a genuinely good kid, and SUCH great disabled representation on top of everything. What's not to love?
Doodle Page 4 funsies might do some more 🤷🏾♀️

Since this year will mark the 35th anniversary of the Nicktoons, I’ve been thinking about all sorts of tie-in material could be done for the anniversary.
And one of the those ideas was a mini-series.
It would live-action/animation hybrid mockumentary titled….
Not Just Cartoons, Nicktoons!
The series would put a major focus on the history and legacy of The Nicktoons.
With episodes dedicated to the background and history of specific shows, featuring interviews from the creators, crew members, voice actors, and even characters.
And it wouldn’t just focus on the big names.
No, no, no.
This series would focus on just about every Nicktoon.
Even the ones that despite being part of the family, but aren’t officially like Pelswick, Wayside and Kappa Mikey.
The series would strike that perfect balance between being very insightful and informative about Nickelodeon’s animated history, while being fun and full of service.
And that’ll be in the form of the Nicktoons.
Not only seeing them interacting with the real world, but also each other.
We haven’t really seen the Nicktoons interact with each other in animation that was just a crossover between two shows.
So seeing so many of them interacting with each other would be every fan’s wish come true.
The series would also be full of meta humor, but in a fun and creative kind of way as opposed to the often observational and cynical kind of way.
As well as some sweet and sentimental moments. As for the kind of moments you can expect to see from this series……
-SpongeBob and Raymundo throwing a cook-out for all the Nicktoons and the cast and crew of their shows.
-Squidward and Angelica performing a duet together in the recording booths and making everyone want to tear their ears off.
-Grandpa Lou, Hiram Wolfe, Grandpa Phil, Iroh, Jibolba and Pop Pop playing poker together.
-Jimmy and Stu inventing all sort of wacky things together, while getting shade from Cindy and Drew.
-Nigel Thornberry and Professor Membrane having a mental breakdown trying to understand CatDog’s biology.
-Timmy giving Hazel his blessing and congratulating her on her show.
-Boog getting into a heated video game competition with Sanjay and Craig and Five and Miko.
-Pelswick joining the Rocket Power gang and performing all sorts of sick tricks in his wheelchair.
-Rudy Tabootie trying to redraw Frankie Stein back together, putting her in different Nicktoon art styles.
-A pizza delivery guy bring an order for the Ninja Turtles, leading to confusion between the 1987, Mirage, 2003, 2007, 2012, IDW, Rise and Mutant Mayhem teams.
-Sokka and Catscratch Brothers getting high off a combination of cactus juice and root beer.
-Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda and Poof pretending that Sparky and Chloe don’t exist.
-The Olly Jolly Man getting drunk off Triple Gooberberry Sundaes, much to the annoyance of the bartender.
-Mr. Krabs, Rancid Rabbit and Scissors trying to scam the other Nicktoons.
-Jon Arbuckle trying to flirt with Jun and Lin Beifong, only to fail miserably.
-Todd being stuck with Bunsen and slowly developing the urge to kill himself.
-SpongeBob being awkward around Karen and Rita Loud.
-1987 Leonardo and Danny Phantom gushing over who’s the most attractive Nicktoon dudes.
-The animated Kid Danger and Captain Man having an awkward encounter with their original live-action counterparts.
-Eliza pestering Otis on why he has udders.
-Kappa Mikey learning martial arts from Sandy, only to regret it.
-The other Oh, Yeah Cartoon characters throwing shade at Timmy, Rudy and Jenny because they got picked while they didn’t.
-Patrick, Sheen and Ronnie Anne performing a parody of the opening of The Cleveland Show.
-Dudley Puppy trying to interact with the other Nicktoon dogs like Spike, Goddard and Spunky, only for things to become awkward since they can’t talk.
-Daggett and Zim getting angry when people tell them that they sound alike.
-Dodie running her mouth about the other Nicktoons’ personal business and getting her ass kicked because of it.
-The 1987 Turtles threatening Peter Laird’s well-being because of how they were portrayed in Turtles Forever. Hey, this wouldn’t be the first time a fictional character threatened a real-life person connected to them….
-Korra and Otis being awkward around each other.
-Danny and Ollie Allen trying out The Pack and Fenton Thermos respectively.
-Tak being down in the dumps because of how quickly he rose and fell and being subsequently forgotten, but being reassured by SpongeBob and the other 2000s Nicktoons that he’s still one of them.
-The Loud siblings receiving Vietnam flashbacks anytime fanart is mentioned.
-So many jokes at the expense of a trio of infamous Nicktoon creators known as The Terrible Threesome. Take a guess who’s making up this group.
-Doug constantly trying to hang out with his fellow Nicktoons, only to have a familiar “mousey” shadow loom over him.
-Chuckie befriending Toph and 2003 Casey Jones, who teach him how to be more tough.
And lastly, the series would also serve as a tribute to many notable names involved with the Nicktoons who are sadly no longer among us.
From older names like Christine Cavanaugh, Mako and Stephen Hillenburg, to recent names like Janice Burgess, Guy Moon and Jeffery Garcia.
Speaking of Jeffrey Garcia, I could see this series being his last official role, voicing Sheen and Pip one last time, and haven done his lines prior to his passing.
Anyway, that’s all for now!
Let me know what you guys think about this concept.
What moments would you like to see from a series like this?
