happy sts! what is your favorite part of outlining?

Honestly, I usually end up doing my outlining all at once, so it kinda all blurs together! I think I most enjoy putting jokes into my outline for later me to enjoy~ c;

top 3 ships: oh dang, I’m not sure my fandomy heart can handle whittling it down to only three, but...Sherlock x John (BBC!Sherlock), Zuko x Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and M!Hawke x Anders (Dragon Age 2) are often in my thoughts. <3

lipstick or chapstick: I love the *idea* of lipstick, but not so much the idea of getting it on everything, so I’m gonna have to go with chapstick.

last song: I’ve been having angsty WIP book 3 thoughts to “Conscious” by Broods and “Monster” by She Is We the last few days...

last movie: Wow, I haven’t watched a movie in way too long, but the last TV show I watched was the first episode of “Gentleman Jack,” which was really fun.

currently reading: Just started City of Masks by Ashley Capes as part of the Indiecember reading challenge.

happy sts! who is your second favorite oc to write?

!! WELL I’M A WEEK LATE BUT IT’S TECHNICALLY STILL A SATURDAY SO

thank you for the ask! this one is a no-brainer and the answer is uhhhhhhhhhhhhh jacob brycen, my dear sweet favourite side character

I could go on at least a twenty paragraph ramble about why this is the case but I can also neatly sum it up like so: because I love him

I think his story and his character arc is one of my favourites!! his personality is A Lot and his backstory is A Lot but he’s a good kid and I’m very fond of him

n one reason he’s fun to write is that he’s not........ actually present for most of the story? like, his disappearance happens at the end of the second chapter, and he doesn’t show up again till well into the final part so in terms of, like.............. as a reader, building an image of him, getting a feel for what he’s like as a person, piecing together his story....... most of that comes from the way other characters speak about him, or it comes from tiny snippets of backstory and throwaway comments, or it comes from these tiny pieces of this mystery he’s left behind

n lots of people have Lots Of Opinion and conflicting ideas about Jacob and what his relationships were like and what led to his current circumstances

idk it’s just a lot of fun to work with, it’s a fun way to come at a character and I enjoy it a lot!

n lastly I do also love the dynamic he has with his siblings which is something that’s very much at the forefront of the story. I think the brycen sibs are maybe my favourite relationship to write, just, in general? which is another thing I can ramble about for twenty paragraphs but isn’t really relevant

Tybee: spicy/sweet, like incenses, probably a good sandalwood vanilla

Gil: food candles, like cinnamon roll or apple pie

Lia: Flowers and water, probably things labeled “Spring Walk” or whatever :P

Kyle: “Man” smells, like mahogany teakwood

Thank you for the STS ask this morning! It's your turn now! I've just started getting into Foxes and Fates, which is absolutely adorable, and has there been anything that you outlined that hasn't actually made it into the WIP?

Happy Storyteller Saturday Sunday! F&F has actually been through a semi-major re-write, with lots of scenes being dropped and add and tweaked and mangled. It’s mostly the same, but a big change has been the dropping of Ella, a wyvern/servant of Fate. She’s still in there, but her role is muchly reduced, so most of her scenes are just flat gone.

I have turned Lia’s life upside down, during FINALS WEEK and it hasn’t stopped since. Lia definitely needs a break :P
