Best of 2013 -- comic pencillers and inkers!

 Today is the pencillers and inkers' day, one or the other or both. Again, I had to cut so many people!

KRIS ANKA

He does a bunch of X-men titles, and I believe he is the best one to portray the X women. Also, amazing uniform designs!

FILIPE ANDRADE 

A unique style that can't go unnoticed. His Captain Marvel issues were perfect, ending with that awesome #17 and the drawings were a big part of its success.

EMMA RIOS

She has shined with her work for Pretty Deadly, including the amazing covers. Its selling success surely lean on the beautiful first impact this covers created.

So, I was browsing my Twitter feed this morning instead of doing work and I noticed this series of tweets from Eric Larsen (creator/artist of Savage Dragon) regarding the status/necessity of inkers in comics today and it really got me thinking. Any of you guys who fall into the inker or penciller camps might find this interesting. Pencils and Inks

When picking up a new comic book or graphic novel I always used to notice who the writer and penciller were, not giving too much thought on the inker. I always assumed they were just tracers. 

The truth is though, Inkers can really enhance or destroy what the penciller and writer are trying to present.

Check out some examples and you'll see what I mean:

Note: Inkers don't do the lettering that's a job for the letterer.

Female Comic Creators

With all this talk about women in the comics industry, I've done this. Here's a list of all the female creators and artists I could think of. These are writers, pencillers, inkers, colorists, editors, and artists who haven't worked in "official" format but could obviously add a much needed touch to the comic industry today.
