On this day in 1612 those that later became known as The Pendle Witches were sent to the gallows at Lancaster. Pendle Hill (behind me) was the home of the witches over 400 years ago and I have grown up in it’s shadow. There is much more than meets the eye in this sad story of fear and persecution and as no one else seems to be remembering this anniversary I wanted to post an acknowledgement of the date and to ask you to take a minute to do the same 🌟 R.I.P. to the witches of Pendle #endpersecution
