felt like throwing out an idea for a slugcat species, don't know if i'll end up really doing anything else with this one but we'll see?

"pengcat" / "orcat" (fully aquatic slugcat concept) (i don't have a proper name in mind right now)

top right:

countershading similar to orcas, penguins, etc. (backside can be any color but underside must stay white/off-white)

blunt body shape with flat paddle tail

breathes air, but can hold its breath for a good while

adapted to cold environments but can tolerate warmer climates

very poor mobility on land (unless sliding on belly)

middle:

ears stay flat upon head while swimming

fingers/thumb are basically vestigial (think of the bones in a cetacean's pectoral fin)

can't grasp objects, has to carry in mouth or using both fins (which is somewhat uncomfortable)

bottom left:

not quite flexible enough to curl up while sleeping, sorta just flops down wherever

bottom right:

would be far further down the timeline (probably around saint's era) but would probably be besties with rivulet if they were able to meet
