I was driving towards #penmonlighthouse in an uber-slick @rybrooklandrover black X-Dynamic L663 the other day to grab an obligatory 'Defender-at-Lighthouse' shot when I saw a small, 'breach to the beach'. I didn't want to drive onto the sand or anything daft, I merely wanted to place the vehicle on the firm stone leaden part of the beach as I liked the background. There was no problem parking the motor. Unfortunately I only had a prime 50mm lens (fixed lens - no capacity to go wider) so I stood in the middle of a blustery, fairly busy, cold, wet road. Anyway, all was well. However, when attempting to align the shot everything was working against me. The my father, the road, rain & wind were all at an angle. The snap was rushed as I couldn't step back far enough to be out of the road/traffic due to the lens. The raised air intake was obscuring how I'd usually align a vehicle in the frame (partly by the mirrors) whilst the wind, cold & every car ever made was out on that road & attempting to kill me. In short, the pic is out-of-whack & on-the-piss. How is your Friday treating you? Another great find on Anglesey. Penmon lighthouse at Penmon point and Puffin island just off the north east tip of the island. Lovely spot and a great drive to get there.
