A lot of the time they do translate the scientific names on wiki, you are right! But on this entry for this genus they do not provide the translation and googling what it means isn't giving me any translations, it's just showing me the birds. And I tried to look at like the root words, but it's been a while since I Latin'd so I must be writing things wrong :c .

I'm not sure, I don't really watch cosplay videos because I'm a weenie and they give me secondhand embarrassment so hard! But I think he was with a few women, and they seemed pretty professional? I wouldn't doubt it if he was! This is in Las Vegas, and D Piddy is more east coast right? But it still could be him, while the con here isn't like the best in the world (I hear that it was a lot better this year and I sure had fun!), it is Las Vegas and I'm sure just that fact makes it attractive to cosplayers from other parts of the country XD.
