“If you don’t rest it’s just going to remain sprained even longer.” Her arms are crossed over her chest and she’s looking at him in a way that screams ‘don’t you dare’.
He flops back against his mass of pillows that his wife had propped up for him to sink into, groaning quietly. “But I’m antsy. And it’s seriously just a sprained ankle...I’ve had worse.”

Her answer made him smile despite the light throbbing in his head. Good thing he was not that drunk last night, and he could still recount what happened. As the other adjusted the sheets, his arm automatically moved to pull her close without his brain processing anything other than him liking the thought of their bodies closer together (and not to mention, naked). He would pull away if she did not want to be though, but for now he closed his eyes and hummed, “That’s good. You’re good. And... ah, yeah. Good.”

Antonio raises an eyebrow before getting up to get them some coffee. “It’s not my fault he’s been complaining to me non-stop. Poor boy. Coffee?”

“I did, but you don’t listen.” Anneliese sighs, giving a forlorn look back at her cold meal. “I’ll heat everything up again, I was about to just eat and leave you to deal with it. Come sit at the table at least, it’ll keep me company.”

His first reaction was shock, then the natural instinct to kiss back, then confusion, and finally, bemused acceptance. He wasn’t quite sure why this had happened, but oh god, it’d been too long since the last time he’d kissed someone he might or might not have been interested in. His hands found her waist, and he leaned farther down, catching her mouth at a more comfortable angle as he did.
Whatever this was, he wasn’t complaining.
