She says: “Was there anything you wanted to talk about?”
I think, I just watched someone stream 1000xResist earlier. I usually call you in the early afternoon but I saw the stream and knew I needed to wait a few hours before I did. It was a scene heavily focused on her parents, a dynamic that reminds me very nostalgically and heartbreakingly of home. I think about the line, “nostalgia can be a dangerous thing,” that repeats throughout the game.
I say: “I call you every week.” “It’s nice to hear your voice,” I add after a moment.
We talk about inane things, things that probably wouldn’t have come up if I still lived at home, things only worth mentioning because I don’t.
I think, I miss you. I miss you but I cannot live at home anymore, and that is okay. And both of us know that is for the best.
I say: “Bye, I love you.”
She says: “I love you, too.”
