Penya’s recent collaboration with On the corner records resulted in the “Penya Investigations” cassette.
We featured the vocals of Lilli Elina and drew on Jim le M’s Afro-Cuban bata knowledge. Magnus PI produced the music via his north african excursions, resulting in “Search it out” - a track described by Dom Servini as “the spiritual Samba I’ve been waiting for” and by both Red Snapper and Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the net as “percussive genius”
The release also presented a collaboration with Indian wizard “Daisho”
The cassette was featured on Bandcamp weekly in April, and has received radio play from Tom Ravenscroft on BBC 6 music, Nick Luscombe on BBC radio 3, and has been featured by DJ Khalab, Amazing radio, and a host of other radio and blog sites.
