However, the mystery man was able to catch every bullet soundly within his hand before crushing them into steel pellets. "Why're you still even there...is this freak controllin' yer mind or somethin'? If that's the case..use our bond..it's how I know it's you..here.." He placed his hand over his chest. "I can still feel yer alive." Alive, but not here.

"Woah woah woah, let's calm down a sec shall we?" She's quick to step between the two men with both hands held out to keep them from getting too close to the other.

"Clearly there's a misunderstanding here somewhere. You said my name so you obviously know me but I know for a fact I've never met you before." She tries to think but nothing comes to mind, never in her life has she met this man before. And she would have remembered because he was quite the handsome devil (Lord help her if Nero heard that)

"And no it's not any sort of mind control I can assure you." Being possessed by the bloom mother certainly had its perks. "So lets—Bluebonnet please put the gun down you are not helping—Let's take it easy and talk this out ok?" Hopefully she can talk down these two hot heads from destroying the block.

"First, lets get introductions out of the way. My name is Tania, I'm a nurse who runs a clinic in Red Grave City. I've never married," She even holds up her hand to show her ring finger was barren. "And this is boyfriend Nero, he's a devil hunter for Devil May Cry." Surely this guy's heard of Devil May Cry? The business was practically famous (at least in Fortuna and Red Grave) so he must know about it.

it   is   not   that   you   did   not   wish   your   mother   happiness.   you   did.   she   had   been   emotionally   lost   and   wandering   for   quite   some   time.   you   knew   she   loved   your   father,   even   in   his   final   days.   you   knew   that   taijiro   morita   would   not   want   his   wife   to   spend   her   days   mourning   and   guarded.   however,   mother   was   sixteen   years   his   senior.   they   were   (   obviously   )   of   legal   age,   but   it   was   not   something   you   were   prepared   for.   if   they   were   to   marry,   nero   would   be   your   stepfather.   suddenly,   you   felt   lightheaded.

The transition is noted, the motions finalized with a frown... but not on his behalf. It was a touchy subject, she jots down, and unfortunately, she'd made a mess of things. Their topics were usually lighter, thanks to their first meeting's open talks of death, and they had a pretty good track record 'til now. Ashley had wondered if this was a budding friendship, a seedling yet to bloom, and like all of the plants she had before -- she went and watered it too much.

Did too much, but also too little.

Weird how she managed that.

"I don't know who's made you think that," seriously, what can be considered grotesque? An infection like her own, but laid dormant as opposed to fading? Was he never healed, and instead made worse? "But they suck. What's happened to you is not your fault, but... I get it, for what it's worth. For awhile, I had traces of that black... sludge... thing in my veins. Couldn't wear skirts."

Who would think a rogue concoction made by government branches wouldn't be a one-and-done type of situation?

"I felt ugly. Gross, like when it happened. But you're lucky, because you have me," Ashley pauses to walk ahead of Nero, stopping before they clash. "And I'm here to tell you that nothing about you is gross. Okay, outside of the usual guy grossness, but you still don't stand a chance against the frat boys I used to come across."

There were benefits to abandoning her old life. Not many, but Ashley noted where she could, and not dealing with them was an everyday relief that, prior to now, went unchecked.

"I won't make you do anything, ever. And if this," a gesture toward his arm, obscured by his side. "Is a secret you want to keep, then you can keep it. Not that you need my permission for that kind of thing, but the meaning's still there. Outside of you puking out your guts right after downing platefuls of food, nothing you do can gross me out too much."

She hopes it's assuring. She's ... it's been awhile since she's talked to anyone on a friend basis. Or any relationship outside of pseudo-therapist.

"So, um... their food's bad, right? It's so bad."

With skilled hands she takes a hold of his demon arm and looks over the scales. "Perhaps this is the demonic part of your blood maturing or maybe it's being refined and empowered by the Yamato? The scale patterns certainly look a lot more familiar to Sparda's." Perhaps she can pay a trip to Devil May Cry and ask for Dante if his Devil Bringer changed over the years. "Do you feel any different? Better? Worse? .... Feel any urges to take over the world or search for more power?"

He's gotten more observant over the years, it was just for a split second but her mouth did open to say something and yet he managed to catch it all the same. Was he hoping she would say something else? Well its not like she can ask him what she actually wanted to ask but she can come up with something else. It was a simple arrangement: Wait for Nico and she'll show up with her new creation. After two months..way earlier than the allotted time they were given. His fingers continue to flick the lighter, but carefully not to damage it. "Hey Nurse, ya ever get a feeling that somethin's not right?" He doesn't know how he could explain that he doesn't feel whole, but when he spends time with her he just feels-..

The flick of the lighter was driving her mad. Because that was her lighter, the one she gave him before the woman ███████ was erased. Sparda's tits she couldn't even say her own name in her mind without it being redacted. She thought she would have gotten over it by now, the ache of having her life ripped away from her, from having him forget her. But having been thrust back into his life again the pain, guilt, and rage all came bubbling back up slowly but surely.

But she couldn't focus on her own pain, not right now, not when he needed her.

"About the whole demon tree taking over the world thing or just in general?" He likely wasn't referring to the tree, it all seemed pretty straight forward as far as she could tell.

Did a part of him remember her? Even if her name and his memories of her had been completely replaced? It's clear his memory had been affected but he still held onto the lighter. The one she gave him as a promise to take back once she's given him her answer. It wasn't like he smoked, there would be no reason for him to keep it and yet.... Would it be foolish to hope his heart may still remember her?

"Personally I haven't felt right in quite some time." She admits softly as she looks over the horizon, checking to see if she can spot Nico's van. "I was born a human and then got turned into a Fae," A dying subspecies of demon, was what she told him and Nico. Normally when possessed by Fae the hosts die but she was able to regain control and in return kept the Fae's powers. It wasn't entirely a lie but she couldn't tell the real truth without sounding insane.

"Ever since then nothin's ever been right for me.... Though I guess where I'm at now is probably the closest its ever been to feeling right in a very long time." Even if he couldn't remember her, even if he didn't love her like he did in the past, she was just happy to be able to talk him like this again.

"Here's hoping the little kettlebell cooked up something for you to help out with that missing arm of yours. You think she got you an attachment to hook up our sword and turn you into an Ash Williams?"
