Wendy planned dropping off her gifts for Hook very carefully, timing it to be the one time of morning she could almost guarantee he would be asleep if he was even on his boat at all. She didn't risk checking and moved as quietly as possible as she set up his gifts.
The first was their small Christmas tree. They had set it up in their office every year, with none of the usual trimmings. It was always things like small boats or fairies that had more meaning to them than pointless Santas or Snowmen. She knew that he wouldn't have bothered with decorating without her there, and it just wasn't Christmas without a tree.
The second was a small gift basket filled with things that she knew he flew through on a regular basis. Items like eyeliner, coffee, tea, and even a gift card to Under the Sea.
Last was a scrapbook filled with pictures of happier times they had spent together, and some scraps from their plans for their trip out of Storybrooke. On the inside cover was a small note saying "Not wallpaper, as per request". No other note is left with the presents.
Hook woke to the sound of light footsteps upon the deck. He hadn’t been expecting anyone to visit, and set aside the day to catch up on lost sleep. Instinctively, his hand reached for the cutlass, as he cautiously crept upon the intruder. To his surprise, it was Wendy, who surely had better things to do with her time. After all, the pirate had denied her a number of times now. He set aside the weapon, knowing she meant no harm, and eyed the gifts she had adorned his makeshift home with.
The tree held the most sentimental value, since it had been a constant in their lives for many years. While he might’ve shared his dislike for the holiday with everyone, there was only one person that had made things enjoyable. Even if it was under the curse, the feelings still felt real, and Hook could no longer deny that.
His hand ran across the binding of the scrapbook, but tried to avoid opening it. Not now, at least. It wasn’t very long after that the fact that Wendy was still standing registered into his mind. “I didn’t think I’d see you— I mean, today. I assumed you’d be busy with your family.”
