Awareness
Imagine a world in which you are aware of everything. Every pain. Every ache. Everything that wasn't as it is supposed to be. This is the world I live in physically. Every time I have a new pain, or my foot goes numb I am overly aware and document how many minutes it lasts. The last time I ignored the numbness-I ended up in the hospital. The last time I ignored the pain-I ended up with decreased function in my right hand. That is what it took for me to be aware. I wonder what would happen if we were all as spiritually aware as those of us with chronic illness are physically aware. Why is it that most of us go through life ignoring the spiritual numbness in our lives? Why do we think there won't be any consequence to the spiritual pain we haven't dealt with? If we did this with our physical self, there would be consequences-sometimes severe consequences. So, why do we not take our spiritual health seriously? Maybe it is because like me, you don't want to believe anything could be wrong. Maybe it is because like me, you want to just "get through" this stage of life, or this season you are in. Maybe it is because we are not yet as aware as we need to be. Or, maybe we are aware and we just don't think the consequences will be there... Whatever your reasoning for not processing through those things that are making you numb or that are the source of pain, I would encourage you to find a starting place-don't ignore it any longer. The consequences may not obvious immediately, but they are there. The good news is: you can find healing, just like I did.
I'm #potsc because in my darkest moment, I was given an angel to help me out of it. Because he helped me find mine, I will live to help others find theirs. #potsc #secondchance #peopleofthesecondchance (Taken with Instagram)
