Retired party pipols couplefie
Catching up with my old party friend from the 1990s to early 2000s, Rona de Vera, on her birthday vacation here in sunny Cebú, at the Ayala Center, Barangay Luz, Cebú City
After years of partying, major changes had brought us on a crossroads to choose different and more productive lives. And in reconnecting before this reunion is where we discovered that we had a long linked histories, outside the party circle.
Fist she disclosed that her uncle Buddy De Vera was actually a close friend and business associate of my father, Danilo Pasimio Oliváres (1942-2024); when they were both in the music industry. Mr. de Vera established Alpha Records in 1963, whereas my dad was first with DisCorporation, then later my dad became the president of the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI). I remember my dad talking about Mr. de Vera, and getting his support mitigating the conflict with the former co-founders of Vicor Records Vic del Rosario (now of Viva Records / Entertainment) and Orly Ilacad (PolyEast / OctoArts Records).
Rona also just found out that she is close to an ex-GF of mine, so somehow I still get updates about her and her family.
From marketing and PR Consultancy, Rona is now an evangelist and healer, and you can read her story in 2023 her book: "The Making of a Warrior Princess: A God Story", and you can watch her 700 Club testimonial/ story: https://www.facebook.com/reel/10158704525361678
